Paradigm Mechanical Receives ABC STEP Diamond Award for Excellence in Safety

Paradigm Mechanical Earns Prestigious ABC STEP Diamond Award for Exceptional Safety Achievement

We are proud to share that Paradigm Mechanical has received the Diamond Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) STEP Safety Management System—the highest level of recognition for safety performance in the construction industry.

This prestigious award highlights our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards across all our operations. It reflects our proactive, team-wide approach to protecting the well-being of our employees, partners, and clients on every jobsite.

What is STEP?

Launched in 1989, ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) is a comprehensive safety benchmarking and improvement tool. It provides contractors with a no-cost framework to measure and enhance their safety programs using a detailed self-assessment of 25 key components. STEP helps companies identify scalable opportunities for improvement, reduce incident rates, and align their practices with the industry’s top performers.

What it Takes to Achieve Diamond Level

To qualify for the Diamond level, companies must:

  • Meet all Platinum-level requirements

  • Achieve an incidence rate at least 50% below the national BLS average (for their NAICS code) for the current year and two prior years

  • Submit OSHA Form 300A data for the past five years (2019–2023) for verification

Receiving the Diamond Award is no small feat—it requires consistent, company-wide dedication to safety, year after year.
