Melinda Dicharry
CEO/PRESIDENT
Melinda Dicharry founded Paradigm Mechanical Corp. in 2010 with a mission to elevate customer service in the construction industry. Her leadership, innovation, and discipline continue to set the company apart. In September 2024, she expanded operations by acquiring San Diego Refrigeration. Today, Melinda continues to invest in Paradigm's success through reliable partnerships with clients, engineers, designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Raised in an entrepreneurial family, Melinda developed a strong work ethic early on. She found her passion for construction while serving as Controller for a major HVAC firm in San Diego. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance), is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), and is a licensed California General (B) and HVAC (C-20) Contractor with over 24 years of industry experience.
Outside of work, Melinda enjoys time at the beach, cheering on the San Diego Padres, and giving back to the community. She has served as President of the San Diego Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Vice President of the Future Construction Leaders, a board member of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and President of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of East County.
Kyle Fletcher
REFRIGERATION SERVICE MANAGER
Kyle Fletcher plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations at San Diego Refrigeration, both in the office and the field. A California native, Kyle is a seasoned industry professional with over 11 years of experience and holds HVAC/R and HVAC/R Controls Certificates from City College.
He began his career in the parts department and steadily advanced by gaining hands-on knowledge and technical expertise. Today, as a trusted leader, Kyle takes pride in ensuring every project runs efficiently and meets the highest standards. His hands-on approach and commitment to operational excellence contribute directly to the team’s success and the company’s continued growth.
Beyond operations, Kyle is passionate about mentoring new technicians and helping them grow into skilled professionals. Always ready to support his team, he ensures technicians have the guidance and resources they need from start to finish.
One of Kyle’s favorite pastimes is racing at Barona Speedway with his wife and kids. Looking ahead, he remains excited about the evolving HVAC/R industry and the opportunities that come with new technologies—finding daily motivation in the challenges and advancements the field brings.
Barbara Thompson
CONTROLLER
Barbara serves as Controller for Paradigm Mechanical Corp., bringing nearly two decades of accounting experience and a deep understanding of the construction industry. She began her accounting career in 2007 within the industrial sector, building a strong foundation in financial management, reporting, and operational support.
Barbara first joined Paradigm in 2016 as an Accounts Payable specialist and quickly became an integral part of the team. Through her dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to supporting company operations, she advanced into leadership roles within the accounting department. After pursuing another opportunity in early 2024, Barbara returned to Paradigm in late 2025 and now oversees the company's financial operations as Controller.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, is a Construction Information Specialist (CIS), and completed the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Project Manager Course in 2023–2024. Her unique combination of accounting expertise and construction knowledge allows her to support both the financial health of the company and the successful execution of projects.
Outside of work, Barbara enjoys reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with family. She values continuous learning, building meaningful relationships, and contributing to the Paradigm team's success.
Ian Irvine
PROJECT MANAGER
Ian Irvine, a native of San Diego, joined Paradigm as a Project Manager in June 2025, bringing over 23 years of expertise in plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC, and controls. With a solid foundation built through extensive professional training, foreman and superintendent certifications, and a completed apprenticeship in plumbing/pipefitting, Ian brings a unique perspective that integrates hands-on field expertise with an owner-focused approach. Known for his dedication to precision and client satisfaction, Ian prides himself on delivering enduring, high-quality work. Beyond his role, Ian teaches plumbing at the local ABC Apprenticeship program and volunteers in schools to inspire the next generation of tradespeople.
In his free time, Ian enjoys mountain biking, hiking, golfing, flying, and time with his family.
Leon Cavallo
PROJECT MANAGER
A native of Menifee, California, Leon Cavallo brings 17 years of construction industry experience to his role as Project Manager at Paradigm Mechanical Corp. Joining Paradigm in June 2026, Leon is focused on delivering quality work and building strong, lasting relationships with clients. His experience spans private, state, K-12, and military projects, working from both the owner’s representative and general contractor perspectives. With a BA in Economics, OSHA 30 certification, and AGC project management and construction training, Leon brings a strong understanding of scope, logistics, scheduling, and trade coordination to each project. He enjoys working through complex challenges, staying ahead of potential risks, and seeing projects through to successful completion. Outside of work, Leon enjoys mountain biking, hiking with his wife and dogs, going to the movies, and supporting pet charities through volunteering and fundraising.
Lori Marsh
PROJECT MANAGER
A native of Norwalk, Connecticut, Lori Marsh brings 35 years of construction industry experience to her role as Project Manager at Paradigm Mechanical Corp. Rejoining Paradigm in June 2026, Lori has extensive experience across federal, state, commercial, general contracting, mechanical, and plumbing projects. Her background includes training in business management, HVAC design, direct digital controls, project management, quality control, and numerous safety disciplines. A driven and forward-thinking leader, Lori focuses on anticipating challenges, keeping projects on schedule and within budget, and ensuring her teams have clear expectations for success. She takes particular pride in seeing a project through from planning to completion and knowing what went into delivering the final product. Outside of work, Lori enjoys spending time with her kids and dogs and supports the Wounded Warrior Project whenever possible.
Nathaniel (Nate) Alvarez
ESTIMATOR
Nate Alvarez brings over 16 years of industry experience and a strong HVAC and plumbing background to his role as Estimator at Paradigm Mechanical Corp, where he has made an immediate impact since joining in 2024. Proficient in estimating and project execution, he has led major efforts at sites like Cuyamaca College and 29 Palms. Nate is recognized for being a team-first leader who prioritizes safety, efficiency, and success for everyone involved. A recipient of Paradigm’s Core Values Awards for both Attention to Detail and Impact, Nate finds motivation in helping teams thrive.
Outside of work, he enjoys time outdoors with family and supports ALS awareness through community fundraising events.
